Playax develops a music intelligence platform that provides features and tools for monitoring the usage of music in different media (radio, TV channels, concerts, websites, social media, etc.) and activate these information to feed a marketplace of services, licensing, promotion, etc., for the music ecosystem. To this end, we are creating a series of technologies including automatic audio identification, metadata management, capture and analysis of audio sources and Big Data analytics. The first module of our roadmap is live (July/14) and we already collects music usage data from different sources and present detailed reports to artists. We also crawl different online databases, trying to identify all the right holders for each piece of music. Based on an estimation of what each source should pay, the artist can see what would be the royalties to be paid. Important Brazilian artists like Caetano Veloso, Ivan Lins, Jorge Vercillo, Fernanda Abreu, Frejat are already using the platform.
