The first Braziliam low-cost 3D printers company and also the first Brazilian company to be financed through crowdfunding. Totally based in free software and hardware, Metamáquina already has a strong brand, which stands for cutting edge technology and is well-known and used amongst knowledgeable youth–as well as some of the most influential universities in the country, hospitals, architects and businesses from toys to transport. We never stop researching. Only a year into our existence we have already released a second 3D printer, developed completely in house, on a level of quality with the best 3D printers worldwide. Metamáquina is now developing two government-sponsored projects with the University of São Paulo and actively working with the international free software and hardware community. As a Brazilian company, we are aware of the social challenges much of the country faces and are setting up a partnership in one of the poorest areas of São Paulo to begin a production line.
